Hi y’all! Let’s talk about comfort food. Is there anything more heartwarming than lasagna? Layers of savory meat, creamy cheese, and perfectly cooked pasta all baked to perfection—oh, it’s just heaven on a plate! But let’s face it, sometimes you don’t have the time (or energy) to go all out with traditional lasagna. That’s where this Skillet Lasagna comes in.

This one-pan wonder gives you all the deliciousness of lasagna without the hassle. Plus, it features our Grass-Fed Ground Beef from Permaculture Pastures—which means you’re feeding your family top-notch, nutrient-packed meat raised right here in North Texas.

Ingredients

For the Lasagna:

1 lb Permaculture Pastures Grass-Fed Ground Beef

1 small onion, diced

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

6-8 lasagna noodles, broken into thirds

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil, for garnish

For Serving:

Garlic bread or a simple green salad

Instructions

1. Brown the Beef:

Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.

2. Build the Sauce:

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes to bring the flavors together.

3. Add the Noodles:

Nestle the broken lasagna noodles into the sauce, making sure they’re covered. Add a splash of water or broth if the sauce looks too thick. Cover the skillet and let it simmer on medium-low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the noodles are tender.

4. Add the Cheeses:

Once the noodles are cooked, dollop the ricotta cheese over the top and sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan. Cover the skillet again and let it cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the cheeses are melted and bubbly.

5. Garnish and Serve:

Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh basil, and serve straight from the skillet. Pair it with garlic bread or a fresh green salad for the ultimate weeknight dinner.
